We fielded our first short resident survey in early May. The intent was to find out what are the most important issues for PLB residents and how PLBRA can best advocate to serve your needs.
What stood out the most? Management responsiveness, by a long shot. Up to 81% of survey responses mentioned this as their top issue. This was followed by maintenance issues (up to 61%) and safety and security (43%). It's also worth noting that nearly 20% of respondents are worried about the end of the eviction moratorium, and 30% of that group applied for rent relief. So please be aware that a number of our neighbors are suffering, even as we approach the end of the pandemic. The complete results can be downloaded here. The survey is statistically significant, with a confidence interval of 85%. (Read: these answers are representative of the general PLB population. Yeah, we can do math at the PLBRA!) We welcome your comments, as well as suggestions for questions for our next survey.

Hello. Please include a description of your survey methodology, i.e., how were respondents recruited? It says the survey was "statistically significant" of the Park La Brea community, but for that to be true, either the entire community or a very large number (several thousands) would have needed to be offered a chance to participate, or the survey population would have to be have been fielded to a truly random sample of sufficient size that in turn generated a response that was statistically signfiicant. I was curious because none of my neighbors at PLB recall seeing this survey. Please include a description of your survey methodology in sufficient detail. for the public to judge whether it has integrity.

Hi, Jacqui - thanks for inquiring. I'm happy to share, but I have a question for you: Are you on the PLBRA emall list? I'm not finding your name on there. In order to exercise a modicum of control. respondents were invited via email twice last May. Our email list at that time numbered about 400, which was a good sample size for our community, estimated at 10K residents (or more accurately, between 6K and 8K adults). We got 150 responses, which gave us statistical significance at a 95% confidence interval and an 8% margin of error. If you want to "LinkedIn stalk" me, you'll see that I have an MBA and have been CMO or senior marketing staff for brands like Evite, Electronic Arts, and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. I'll never claim infallibility, but I will not share fake stats. Please join the email list - we'd love to have your and your friends. We now have more than 600 members. plbra.org/contact Thanks! --Angela Gyetvan
