If you live in a PLB Tower, you may have noticed that both front and back doors are now regularly
closed. That’s in preparation for the security improvements that are coming over the next 90 to 120 days.Read on for details - but the TL:DR version of the story is this: We’ve been heard, and in response, PLB management is making changes across the property. First, cameras are being installed on all external gate, so we cantrack who’s entering and leaving the property. Second, gate personnel are returning to requiring vehicles entering the property to indicate why they are here. PLB is also updating the parking management system, so we’ll have news on what to expect regarding processes for admitting visitors in the near future. Third, major security improvements are being made in the Tower lobbies. That includes the installation of a security system that will require key fobs for entry. The system will be tied to a smartphone app that will allow you to “buzz” in guests when they come to visit. Security cameras are also being installed in the Tower lobbies to help reduce the incidence of items being dumped in the lobbies, package theft, and other shenanigans. So, if you’re one of those folks who likes to prop open lobby doors, smoke in front of the doors, or leave your trash in the lobby - smile! - you’ll be caught on camera. PLB management requests that residents who have issues with electronic security (disability, lack of smartphone, religious restrictions), or who have questions direct their inquiries towards Aryn Thomez through her assistant, Kay Wright at [email protected], with a cc: to PLBRA at [email protected]. Looking forward to a more secure neighborhood for us all! #CommunityStrong

Here's your place to vent, y'all. Post pix of the messes you find around PLB - and provide some context. Please avoid posting personal information (we'll have to remove it, if you do.) Really? I watched a resident walk OUT of a tower and place her bag of garbage on this trash can. We have dumpsters in the basements, y'all. Trash can literally 10 steps away. Do better, or we're calling your mother.
We fielded our first short resident survey in early May. The intent was to find out what are the most important issues for PLB residents and how PLBRA can best advocate to serve your needs.
What stood out the most? Management responsiveness, by a long shot. Up to 81% of survey responses mentioned this as their top issue. This was followed by maintenance issues (up to 61%) and safety and security (43%). It's also worth noting that nearly 20% of respondents are worried about the end of the eviction moratorium, and 30% of that group applied for rent relief. So please be aware that a number of our neighbors are suffering, even as we approach the end of the pandemic. The complete results can be downloaded here. The survey is statistically significant, with a confidence interval of 85%. (Read: these answers are representative of the general PLB population. Yeah, we can do math at the PLBRA!) We welcome your comments, as well as suggestions for questions for our next survey. |
