Based on the novel by Shusako Endo, this masterpiece by Martin Scorsese tells the story of two 17th-century Jesuit priests (Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver) who travel to Japan to find their missing mentor (Liam Neeson) and help spread Catholic Christianity. Christian converts are mercilessly persecuted in Japan, and must renounce their faith or face a prolonged and agonizing death.
