Joining the Residents Association.

Why should I join the Residents Association?

Although PLBRA speaks for all residents, becoming a member gives you the power to vote for who you want to speak for you. It also makes you eligible to run for the Board yourself.

How much does becoming a PLBRA member cost?

$20 for an individual and $30 for a family.

Can I participate in committees and help out without joining?

Yes. We welcome everyone who wants to help. Joining just gives us more freedom to do things for the community — we have bills to pay too.

If I'm not a member, can I still call you about issues?

Absolutely. We are here for everyone. We would hope that if you turn to us regularly, you see our value and want to join — but it isn't required.

Committees, advocacy, the newsletter.

What are some of the things the Residents Association does?

This year PLBRA runs several committees:

  • Outreach Committee — helps folks who need an extra hand.
  • Land Use Committee — tracks what's happening on the outside of Park La Brea and keeps residents up to date.
  • Rent / Market Rate / AirBnB Committee — keeps an eye on rent, market rates, and AirBnB issues.
  • Newsletter — PLBRA produces the community newsletter (always looking for folks to contribute).

I have a safety concern. Do I call PLBRA?

If it is a life-threatening situation, call 911.

For everything else — noise complaints, lockouts, non-emergency safety issues — call PLB Patrol at 323.549.5509.

What if something breaks in my apartment?

Lease, laundry, pool, gym, garden.

I have a question about my lease, payments, moving out, or getting a new apartment at PLB.

Email the Accounts Receivable Team for anything related to your lease, lease end date, ledger charges, payments, or to request/submit a Notice To Vacate. Addressed by tower group:

The shared washer/dryer in my tower or garden area is broken. Who do I call?

Submit a service request at wash.com/service-request — scroll down and fill in the 6-digit machine ID displayed on the outside of the unit.

I want to cancel my pool/gym membership or get one.

Bring a photo ID and a copy of your lease to the pool admin office. Other questions: [email protected].
