96 minutes – Noel Coward’s comedy about a man (Rex Harrison) who has two wives, one of whom (Kay Hammond) is a ghost who ensconces herself in the home he shares with wife number two (Constance Cummings).

7/23 – Bay of Angels (1963)

79 minutes – “A magical whirling little film, a triumph of style” (THE NEW YORKER) directed by Jacques Demy and featuring the erotic Jeanne Moreau as a gambling lady who turns compulsion and luck into a kind of Sartrean existentialism. (In French with English subtitles)

7/30 – Elvira Madigan (1967)

90 minutes – A tale of romantic insanity set in the late 1890’s. Bo Widerberg directed this beautifully photographed film, artfully acted by Pia Degermark, as a circus performer and Thommy Berggren, as a handsome cavalry officer. The highly acclaimed musical score is adapted from Mozart’s Piano Concerto #21. (In Swedish with English subtitles)
