Flamenco dancer Miguel Bernal, former member of the Jose Greco Dance Co., makes his fifth appearance at Park La Brea. Mr. Bernal is an extraordinarily accomplished Spanish and Flamenco dancer/singer/writer. His focus on dance took him first to Mexico City where he studied with The Ballet Folklorico of Mexico and then to Madrid, Spain.
He has performed all over the world and in a multitude of venues and media including film, television and of course theatre. In Los Angeles he has performed at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Barnsdall Theatre, Wilshire Ebell Theatre, Gibson (Universal) Amphitheatre and The Madrid Theatre to name only a few.
For this performance Miguel and his dance partners have choreographed new Flamenco dances. These dances are from the southern part of Spain, known as Andalusia, the original birthplace of Flamenco; also on the program is a classical Spanish dance, along with Miguel’s Farruca.
Tickets for this exciting event are $12 per person [$10 for Senior Citizens and Students], including champagne and hors d’oeuvres, and can be obtained at the PLB Activities Center in Curson Square. For further information or reservations contact the PLBRA office at 934-1177.
