Latest PLBRA/PLB Management Meeting

  • New Windows for Garden Units
PLB Management reported that work will commence in Block 23 during the second or third week of February.

                      (Project continuation)

  • New Controlled Access System for Park          La Brea
 PLB Management stated that:
​
    a. Fobs have been issued to residents of Blocks 29, 30          and 31.
 
     b. Users of Garage # 6, (located on Lindenhurst                 Ave), will be the next PLB residents to get their               Fobs. This distribution is scheduled to start during           the first week of February.

  • Fire / Safety Inspections
PLB Management advised that Initial Inspections have been completed for the property and that Follow Up Inspections will take place during February.
 
Subject Follow Up Inspections will be conducted during Normal Business Hours (Mon – Fri  8 AM - 5 PM).

  • Fountain Problems
PLB Management reported that both the Burnside Circle Fountain and the fountain in front of Tower 47       (375 S. Curson Ave) are presently non-operational due to pump problems.
 
It is anticipated that both fountains will be up and running again in a few weeks.

  • Electrification Upgrades
PLB Management reported that Utility Closet and Hallway Work will be the next phase of the electrical upgrade work scheduled for Towers 33 (360 S. Burnside Ave),   34 (386 S. Burnside Ave) and 35 (351 S. Fuller Ave).

Furthermore, PLB Management advised that Tower 37 (400 S. Burnside Ave) is the next tower on the upgrade list.
  • PLB Garden
PLB Management is presently weighing the Pros and Cons of opening the PLB Garden to public view.
 
        (Removal of the current green fence shield.)

  • PLBRA Events:
         a. PLBRA 2019 Annual Meeting – January 13,               2019
                                                 
PLBRA had two guest speakers this year.
 
         Councilmember David Ryu (4th District)
                      Los Angeles City Council

His Honor addressed infrastructure issues facing our community.
 
        Town and County Development Group
 
Reported on the redevelopment envisioned for the 3rd & Fairfax property, (the former KMART site), adjacent to Park La Brea.
 
        (Both presentations were most informative.)
 
PLBRA highlighted its accomplishments during 2018 and presented its forecast for 2019.
 
         (The Annual Meeting was well attended.)

  •  Enforcement of Safety Rules at Curson Square
PLB Management will initiate an Email Blast addressing the prohibition of Razor Scooters, Skateboards and Bicycles in Curson Square Park.
 
PLBRA’s February 2019 Newsletter will also have an item on this topic.

  •  Washer / Dryer installation in the apartment units of Tower 36 (350 S. Fuller Ave)
 PLB Management reports that this amenity is planned for a future date.
 
      (Required electrical work is currently in progress but          necessary plumbing work is a future project.)

  •  Why isn’t Wi-Fi included (FREE) in our rent?
​PLB Management’s response is that the cost of “Wi-Fi” is a Utility Fee to be paid by the resident.
 
PLB Management further advised that there are free         Wi-Fi Hot Spots on property for resident use.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Park LaBrea Residents Association (PLBRA) is to protect resident's rights, to provide a viable liaison with Park La Brea Management, and to contribute to enhancing the quality of life in our community. PLBRA represents the residents of Park La Brea. It is their voice in this changing community. 

The Park La Brea apartment consists of 4224 apartments and boasts a culturally diverse population ranging from 10,000 to 12,500 residents. It is located on 167 acres in the heart of the nation's second largest city. It is in fact, a small town or village.
